Christians project their own morality onto others, and then turn around to say that we feel scorned and ashamed because we know that what we do is wrong. They absolve themselves of the harm they perpetuate by blaming the victim, and justifying our suffering according to their own religious ideas.
My existing as openly queer becomes a flaunt. A small earring becomes “pushing it in my face” and my authentic expression becomes flaunting it.
I just don’t get how something as simple as wearing an earring can be flaunting it in her face. She makes it sound like an act of violence, like an afront to her person. In no reasonable world does simple aesthetic personal adornment become a moral concern.
